About

My name is Klemens Raab. I’m a freelance…<insert anything here>. Personally, most of my hobbies have become my obsessions, and, due to the inability to ever hire anyone to do stuff for me, I have taught myself a lot of cool tricks.

What I love…
This question, of course, has the obvious main answers: God, wife, family, and home. However, I would like to add a few things to the list!

Movies
My main passion is MOVIES, and anything associated with them. I started out just enjoying watching them. Eventually, I found that I would have a hundred ideas for films and commercials, but no way to express myself. So, I taught myself cinematography and editing, as well as, directing and producing. From there, it stemmed off into animation and even distribution. Did I say that I LOVE movies?

Favorite Movies:
The Godfather I and II, ANY Superman movie, Boondock Saints, MOST Hong Kong-action / kung fu movies, and **a guilty pleasure of mine** Three Amigos! Well, to tell you the truth, I like almost every movie. As long as there is a memorable line or two, and I’m not totally offended or appalled, then it’s cool with me.

Music
If you were to ask someone what music I like, they would only have one answer - U2. What other band can boast not only a super-duper career, but also a lead singer who has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize? Huh? Can you tell me one? Hmm? Didn’t think so! I have seen them in concert 10 times and actually got a chance to meet Bono and The Edge when they came to Dallas a few years ago. Pretty cool. As a designer and producer, their work, their overall look, just their attitudes, in general, inspire many things I do. Kudos to them.

Other than U2, I rock out to classical, jazz (new and old), alternative, and a little bit of a bunch of other stuff.

Superman
Ok. I know this may seem weird - an almost thirty-something saying that if he had just one wish, it would NOT be a billion dollars…it would NOT be world peace…it would NOT be even more wishes. If I had just one wish, it WOULD be the same one I have had since I was 2…to be Superman. If you ever want to talk about the Dude of Steel, let me know. I will be happy to enlighten you on the subject.

Shakespeare
There is no possible way I could create “The Rival Poet” (see the logo above!) without acknowledging the man who created him. As arguably the most powerful creator of human character (not human characters!), the man from Avon truly inspires much of the work I do, whether it’s cinematic, design, or just plain thinking.
